In 2015, he took home the Best R&B Song trophy at the Kili Music Awards—commonly referred to as the Tanzania Music Awards—and followed that up in 2017 by winning Best East African Music Video at the Zanzibar International Film Festival.
He was also nominated for Best Male East Africa at the All Africa Music Awards back in 2018. Sadly, Jux’s hit song “Uzuri Wako” was banned by the Tanzanian Communications Regulatory Authority for allegedly violating the 2005 Advertising Services (Content) Regulations.
In 2019, Jux officially released his debut album The Love Album featuring collaborations with Singah, Diamond Platnumz, Nyashinski, Vanessa Mdee, G Nako, and Joh Makini. Just as expected, the Album was well received and had garnered over 1.3 million streams on BoomPlay, while its lead single, “Sugua”, had more than 10 million organic views on YouTube.
Surprisingly, the album found its way to listeners through Africori, an official partner of Warner Music Group. He later released his second album dubbed King of Hearts, featuring collaborations with Zuchu, Marioo, Mbosso, Terri, and Bien from Kenya.
